My Favorite Books

So, my absolute favorite children's books are the Pigeon books by Mo Williams! This year they came out with The Pigeon Wants a Puppy! -Which I didn't even know about.

Aaron found it at Barnes and Noble and bought it for me! It is so great.

Now, I just have to add the Pigeon board books to our collection. That way our baby will be able to enjoy them too.

Tagged

Well, I have been tagged by Lanette. I have to list six quirks about myself, so here it goes...

1. I absolutely love to clean and organize things. I even think it's fun. -My favorite thing to clean is my car.

2. I color cordinate my closet. Yep, I do ... according to color, fabric type and shirt sleeve length. I even do it to Aaron's side of the closet when he's not looking. -That's the benefit of doing the laundry right??? -But it's not as bad as it used to be. -I don't space my hangers so much now. :)

3. I like prunes. -I love dried fruit in general, but it's true, I like prunes.

4. I brush my teeth twice. And I can't leave the house without brushing them -I just don't feel ready to go. However, if I am feeling rebelious I'll brush them just once.

5. Curious George is my absolute favorite TV show. I am always so excited to watch it while I am eatting my breakfast. George's logic is so funny to me. I love it!

6. I have a million, well, -maybe not literally, but it seems like I have a million different socks. I like the stretchy kind with all sorts of designs and pictures on them. -I am working on getting rid of this quark, and am planning on using the socks for Sock puppets. --That is when I learn to use the sewing machine I got for Christmas last year. :)

I tag Susie, Cam and Kim. Love you guys.

Moving Day

Yesterday was moving day! Aaron and I are excited to be in our new home. There is stuff EVERYWHERE. LOL. :) We are very grateful to Aaron's Dad, Kirsten, Becky, Wendy and Jared for helping out. We couldn't have done things without them.

Today was moving day part 2: in other words cleaning the old house and picking up any extra things that were left behind. We still aren't completely done, but we are close and that is exciting.

Now, if there was only more time to organize the new house. :) -I can always wish right. :)

Updates

Well, we went to the Doctor yesterday for our 12 week pregnancy exam. The Doctor couldn't find the baby's heart beat so we got another ultrasound. Our baby is fine and jumped when they bugged him. Mean ultrasound lady. ): But we are happy to find out that everything is going fine.

Also, on Tuesday the carpet guys finished carpet instillation on our new house! It looks really good. -So, now all we have to do is pack and move and clean our old house. Piece of cake, right? :)
Anyway, life is treating us good.

Plus, we got to see Aaron's Dad and sister Kirsten last night. Too fun.

Before and after pics: The bedroom used to be lavender, now it's blue and now it has new carpet like the rest of the house!

Top pics are of the living room after we painted it from mint green to neutral colors.

Sick

Well, I am not sure that this is entirely blog appropriate, but since people have found out that I am pregnant the constant question is ... how are you feeling? Are you sick, etc.?

So, although this isn't truely something to celebrate ... I threw-up for the first time last night. :(

The good news is I don't think it will be a regular occurance, especailly since I am almost out of my first trimester. At least I certainly hope it won't become a regular occurance. :(

Aaron's so Good.

My husband is the best! After our interesting experience painting our bedroom we decided to try the living room ... and it looks GREAT! Now we just have to wait to paint the 2nd part of the living room.

And since, we are becoming such painting pros, we may even paint the hallway. :) That is if we can get it done before Monday when they start laying carpet down. -It certainly has been a super busy, cleaning/painting frinzy of a week.

11 Hours

Well, last night after work we went straight to our new house and taped, primed, etc. our bed room walls.

Today we returned to spend 11 hours doing more painting, taping, priming etc. in our bed room and living room. The work went much faster with the above featured Pant-N-Roll Plus recommended by our new neighbors.

However, I am a little disappointed. I always thought I could have a career in painting and that it would be a lot of fun. Welcome, disillusionment and reality. Painting is never fun! That is until it is done.

Carpet & Paint

So, we decided to bite the bullet and buy new carpet before we move into our new home. It is an extra expense, but it will look so much nicer and will be so much easier than moving our furniture in and then out again in a year to do carpet.

The Carpet One guy came and measured everything this morning and should be calling us with his final bid this afternoon.

Plus, last night we picked up a bunch of paint swatches from Lowes. After all, if you're going to carpet it's pretty smart to paint first. :)

Anyway, we already have a bunch of projects to keep us busy. -And Aaron thought he was going to have it easy. Ha ha ha. :)

Hard Workers

Usually on Saturday Aaron and I do some laundry, grocery shop, gather up the garbage and do whatever dishes or cleaning is needed. It's really not bad. We have lots of laze around the house time and enjoy sleeping in.

But not today. :)

Today we added to our list of Saturday chores waking up early to mow our new lawn. And about three hours of picking up roof shingles at my friends house. -Lots of bending for me and hauling for Aaron. -We are exhausted, and a little sunburned. :)

Plus, we still haven't gathered up the garbage, grocery shopped or even made our bed. -Pretty bad, hugh. -Oh well, at least we got a good nap in to relax our sore muscles. :)

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July!

We love waking up and finding a flag on our front lawn. -Curtousy of the Boy Scouts fundraiser in our area. :) So, we thought we would share. :)

Today we woke up and had breakfast with some friends and are now kicking back and taking things easy.

Also, last night we stopped by our new house to put together our lawn mower and cleaned some kitchen cupboards. Here are a few pictures so you will all want to come and visit us! We would love to give tours etc. to anyone who is interested. Just let us know. :)

We do have some painting and carpeting to keep us busy this next month, but as you can see from the pictures, the yard is already amazing. :)
