My Last Day of Work

Today is my last day of work. Well, at least my last paid day of work. I am sure taking care of Caleb will be very enjoyable, but of course lots of work. :)

It has been nice getting everything ready for when I would leave and I feel that I've done a good job. I will miss the people I've worked with. However, I am very excited and grateful for the opportunity to stay at home.

Caleb the Wiggle

Caleb the Wiggle Worm has been very active today. He started his spurt of activity yesterday afternoon at the movie theater and has been getting even more exercise in today.

Usually he moves and kicks so softly and sporadically that it is hard for Aaron to feel him move. But not today. You can see my stomach move. And his constant moving is reliable and rhythmic. :)

I think he's getting excited to be born. Tomorrow he will be 35 weeks old! Just two weeks away from being "full-term."

Almost Christmas Eve

Hurray! It's almost Christmas Eve!

Aaron and I plan on making some good food and being lazy. :) -Of course, good food for an uncomfortable pregnant girl like myself isn't too fancy, but I did buy a small ham and hopefully we'll be making Chicken Divan and Green-Bean Casserole (I missed out on this one at Thanksgiving). :)

Also, -now don't be shocked, I am reading a book called Christmas Jars. I received it as a gift a year or two ago and decided to check it out. It is a small book, so I don't feel like I am making a return to reading, just enjoying something different. -Besides Christmas stories don't really count as books, now do they?

Anyhow, I decided to read last night when I was very awake and my sweet husband was very tired. It was nice to sit in the glider in Caleb's room and read. -After about 3 chapters I was good and went to bed, although still not tired. -Maybe when I finish I might read another book I got as a Christmas gift today: The Christmas Sweater. This one is hard bound and thicker, so it looks bookish, but it does say Christmas in the title -so maybe it doesn't really count. :)

Too Much Snow!

My friend Jen was right, I shouldn't have prayed for so much snow. :(

I got stuck in front of my house 3 times, and Aaron got my car stuck once trying to get it back into our driveway/garage. We had at least 2 neighbors help at various times. Poor Aaron had to come home from work to help, and then drove me to work to avoid further distress.

Even our SUV has to pull its weight in order to get through all the fluff.

-In addition, it should continue to snow all day. Crazy Idaho Snow!

Aaron and I's Early Christmas Present

Mom, Dad and Grandpa Long helped us get a snow blower for Christmas! We are very excited and had to take our new toy out for a test run. :)

Now all we need to do is hope for a "White Christmas" with more of the fluffy stuff.

As, for other news in our life ... not much has been happening. We are happy and content.

We have had an amazing surplus of bread lately. Considering the normal loaf we have from the grocery store, the bread Mom, Dad, Cam, Kim, Grandma and Grandpa made last week, the loaf from our neighbors, the 3 loaves from my company door prize ... and well as much as we like it that's a lot of bread for two people to eat. 6 loaves of bread to be exact. :) -Luckily two of our friends adopted a loaf so that at least brings it down to 4, and I think we'll freeze at least one loaf for later. :)

Other news is that Aaron got me a red poinsettia yesterday! I don't know why I love them so much, but it just doesn't seem like Christmas without one. -So, I was VERY excited.

Caleb is doing well, running out of room to do summer-salts and focusing on putting on some baby weight before he is born. -His mom feels really big, but is happy to know he's doing good.

We hope all our family, friends and blog followers are having a great Christmas week. Love you guys.

Christmas Time

Tonight was my work Christmas party! Aaron's sister took a quick picture of us by our Christmas tree before we headed out for dinner. -It's a lot easier to see Caleb's presence now that we are getting closer to the end of our pregnancy. :)

Caleb's due date is the 1st of February, but he is considered full-term Jan. 11th. So, I am hoping for a happy, healthy baby --who can come a little early if he's ready at the end of January.

Merry Christmas!!!

Monopoly Champion Again!

Tonight for Family Home Evening we played Monopoly again! And I am proud to say that once again I am the champion. :)

Aaron put huge hotels on Boardwalk and Park Place, but the luck of the dice only made me land there once. :)

Holiday Dating Advice

Aaron and I decided that our Holiday Dating Advice this year would be: that if you are single and need a new pick-up-line that this one ought to get your point accross:

"I've got some Mistletoe at my house and was wondering if you'd like to come help me check it out?"

US States Game

A friend at work forwarded me this really great game. I've attached the link address below. Basicly after you push the start button you have 10 minutes to try to name all 50 US states. -You don't have to know where they go, you just have to be able to spell the state names correctly.

My first try I only got 39 right. -Now it's become a challenge to get them all. A few minutes ago I got 49 right! See how you do and enjoy. :)

A Fun Day

Today I got to go out to lunch at Johnny Carinos with two of my girl-friends. We had a lot of fun. I ordered a spinich and tomato pizza -inspired by my sister-in-laws genious when we went to lunch there last week. :)

Afterwards one of the girls and I went shopping for Christmas gifts. I found Aaron some great stuff. And my friend had this amazing coupon, plus I had some more coupons for his other gifts -so, I feel like I did really well.

Then tonight Becky, Aaron and I went to see Twilight at the theater. It was fun. Aaron and I stopped at Best Buy and Perkins on the way home. It felt like a little mini-date. :)

It's been a good and relaxed weekend. I am greatful to have so many good friends.

Calling All Christmas Elfs

I would like to get some gift ideas, for Aaron, from all my faithful bloggers. I have a list of possibilities, but I think some help could inspire some even greater creativity.

-So, please leave a suggestion in my comment box.

And Aaron, ... no cheating you don't get to look at the comments section on this blog!

New Boots and Diamond Earings

Today I am wearing some new boots my Mom gave me and my diamond stud earings. For some reason it makes me feel like a million bucks. :)

Aaron let me get my earings on a cruise we went on for our 6 month wedding anniversary. -That was before car, house and baby payments came along. :) And since my hands have been randomly swelling I've decided it's best to not wear my wedding ring. -So, I guess what I am saying is that I am glad I can still have some bling from Aaron to make me feel like a princess.

Also, for all you loyal blog readers. We went into the Doctor a little early this month (due to the swelling issue) and everything is going fine. My blood pressure and the baby's heart beat and measurements are all where they should be.

As for the numbness I've been feeling in my arms ... well the Dr. says it's probably from the increased blood flow during pregnancy, possibly carpel tunnel related. -So, not fun, but too bad. Wearing a brace or two may help at night. And it should go away in ummmm 2 months, 1 and a half if I am lucky. :)

Disney Princess Quiz

You Are Aurora! (A.K.A. Sleeping Beauty.)
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Thoughtful and loving. Authority figures probably have been sheltering you all of your life. Thankfully you're a very tranquil person who is content with what life has given you, but secretly you want to know how the outside world works.

Which Disney Princess Are You?

I took this quiz after seeing it on my friend Jen's Blog. It was fun. If you have a minute to play click on the Which Disney Princess Are You? link. :)

The Ever Elusive Changing Table

We have finally been able to find the ever elusive changing table to match Caleb's crib and dresser. Sears told us about a month and a half ago that although they didn't have the table in stock that they should be getting more in -especially since they are still selling them on the floor. Not!

After many a trip and phone call to our local Sears we decided to take things into our own hands. The company that makes the baby furniture only sells to Sears and doesn't sell directly online. So, we had Aaron's Dad look in Arizona. He had almost as much trouble as us, but miraculously there was one changing table left in the color we wanted to match our other furniture! Hurray!

-He's bringing it up in about a week and a half. And we are very excited. :) Thanks Grandpa Bly :)

Early Christmas/Brother Fun

Because everyone is here for Thanksgiving and our Grandparents 50th Wedding Anniversary Party ... we decided to have some early Christmas/Family fun. Dad made breakfast! We opened some gifts, hung out in pajamas and had some good brother fun.

Tonight we intend to have even more fun playing games and watching movies. And tomorrow all of us girls are going shopping!

This picture is of the boys playing Wii Ski (Logan's Christmas present from us). They seemed tbe having a lot of fun. :)

Popcorn for Thanksgiving

I sure do hope that no-one decides to serve popcorn for Thanksgiving dinner. :)

After all, like poor Charlie Brown a lot of us are merely amateurs at this whole cooking business. -Which, of course, is why I decided to order pies rather than baking them myself.

I strongly believe that pregnant women loose all ability to cook for the 9-10 months that they are expecting. Which, Aaron generally doesn't mind because it means we get to eat out a lot more and also, because I don't try so hard to get him to eat a bunch of vegetables.

-On a side note, the first part of my family has arrived safely! It is nice to have them here in our home. -I can't wait to beat them all at Monopoly. :)

Thanksgiving Tom Turkey

It is Thanksgiving Time and I am soooo excited. I love to eat. :) -This is no surprise to those of you who know me.

Since I have been pregnant I have had less of an appetite, but slowly my love for desserts, chocolate, and just good food in general has returned. -I think the things I am most excited about eating this year are green bean casserole and mashed potatoes and gravy.

-Aaron doesn't like green beans. :( And I don't know how to make gravy. -Tragic I know. So, having this opportunity with my family is great.

Some of them are traveling today! I can't wait for them to get here. :)

-Just curious, but if you'd like to comment and leave your favorite Thanksgiving food I think it would be fun to see what everyone else looks forward to eating. -Turkey, Pumpkin Pie, Sweet Potatoes, Rolls, Frogs-Eye-Salad, Yummy Potatoes, Olives and much, much more. :)

On a side note: I had a college room-mate who used to like Cranberry jelly straight from the can with a spoon. -Silly, silly girl. I love you anyway.

Happy Turkey Week!

Monopoly Champion

I decided to pick a different game for Aaron. And since we haven't ever played Monopoly that was the game of choice for this afternoon! We had so much fun. I was down to morgaging almost all of my properties and even had just $1 left at one point. But got very lucky and landed on Free Parking. Collected an amazing pot of money and proceeded to buy houses, hotels and eventually there was no avoiding it ... Victory was mine! -Winner, winner, winner. :)

I have the CUTEST Niece Ever!

I have the cutest niece ever. Don't believe me ... then go to http://www.marshallandlanette.blogspot.com/ and see for yourselves. -While you are there be sure to post a comment on Marshall's blog from Friday Nov 21st. If he gets 20 comments he promised his wife that he would post every day this week. -While I am not sure I can endure reading 7 whole boy-posts from Marshall, I do want more pictures of my niece, which are currently up for ransom. Please help, and have fun seeing how cute an 8-month-old baby can be.

Why, oh Why do I have to Work?

Why, oh Why do I have to Work?

There is still plenty of work to do, but as our magazine seasons come to an end and as they slowly phase out part of my job in preparation for my departure. There are spurts of slow and fast moments.

There is also an increase in "Wow you are starting to show" and "You're still here" comments from some of my co-workers.

Put the two together with the fact that it's Friday, my boss is gone, and Aaron has had the whole day off to play WOW and you can see where I am at.

Utterly and totally bored, I am very tempted to leave early. :)

Gift Registry Junky

Alright, so I have another confession to make. I am a Gift Registry Junky. - A what you might ask? Well, let me explain ... you know how Bed Bath and Beyond, Wal-Mart and Target all have gift registries for future brides and grooms. Well I love them. When I find out my friends are getting married checking out their registry is almost as exciting as getting their wedding invitation in the mail.

I love finding them a gift and seeing what items have been fulfilled as their wedding approaches.

Of course, when you are the one getting married this practice is strictly taboo. Since, you want to be surprised by the various wedding gifts people may get you.

But since I am married I can now be an official Gift Registry Junky. Right now I have two friends getting married. One next week and another friend getting married in December!

So, along with my Christmas and blogging obsessions, checking my 3+ e-mail accounts, Netflicks que list, online bank statements, and various shopping sites I love checking out my friends gift registries. :)

Pies

I just ordered some very yummy pies for this years Thanksgiving feast!

2 Homestyle-Apple
2 Pumpkin
1 Pecan
1 Wildberry
1 Chocolate-French Silk
1 Lemon-Meringue

Now all we need is some ice-cream. :)

It's going to be one very fun party. I can't wait for everyone to come.

Hurry! -Come Faster so we can all have some pie. :)

Prego

Aaron likes to call me "Prego." And whenever he does it makes me think of the spagetti sauce.

Now, that my belly is getting rounder he seems to be calling me "Prego" a lot more often. Caleb is also kicking a lot more often. And often times we can tell where he is at by the hard spot in my tummy. -I think Aaron likes being able to tell he is there by poking him. :)

Yesturday, we got some more things done in Caleb's room. Like hanging shelfs and arranging furniture. We still are waiting on getting our changing table -since it is out of stock right now, but overall I think we are pretty organized.

Plus, we got some more Christmas decorations out. And Aaron helped me clean the pantry -not his favorite project for the day, but I couldn't have done it without him.

Oh, and I almost forgot ... we played a game of Scrable and I almost, very nearly beat him. It was a very close round. And it's always good to keep things competitive. :)

Oh Christmas Tree!

When I came home from my buisness trip to Salt Lake Aaron had suprised me and set up the Christmas tree! I have been excited about decorating and finally got my opportunity last night while Aaron was playing WOW.

I still have Christmas dishes to organize and other odds and ends. But the tree is beautiful and I got my nativities up. The main one is pictured.

Also, last week I wrapped a few gifts. I think maybe we should let Abby open hers at Thanksgiving time -but she'll have to ask her Mom and Dad. :)

Plus, I have one ornament that I think I need Mom's help hanging up. -One of those Mom and daughter kind of things. :)

Can't wait to see everyone in a couple of weeks.

80 Days and Counting

So, it's fun to have a count down for how long until Caleb's due date. -Speaking of he just kicked me. Anyhow, as I was saying ... it's fun but sometimes 80 days seems like so many.

Aaron was perdicting that maybe, just maybe he may come sooner than Feb. 1st. Possibly sometime in January. Because technically, Caleb would be considered "full term" anywhere from about the 15th of January on. So, he would be healthy and ready and maybe, just maybe he might want to meet us as soon as possible. :)

Anyhow, we will just have to wait and see.

Aaron, Caleb and I's Dr. Visit

Today Aaron, Caleb and I went to the Dr. for my gestational diabetes test. They gave me this funny drink (kind of like non carbonated 7-up) and then later took my blood (not fun - I cried). I passed the test so we are good, but about 10-15 minutes after I had the drink Caleb started freaking out like he was doing a million jumping jacks. -Note to self: if Caleb's not moving enough try drinking 7-up to give him a sugar-high. :)

Anyhow, it was kind of a funny experience. I don't know why I started crying after they took my blood -it's not like it hurt. I think I was just so nervous. And the nurse kept trying to get me to talk, --which perhaps helps some people not think about what's going on, but unfortunately doesn't work for me. I am just glad Aaron was there. And, that he still loves me even though I am such a cry-baby. We did get a good laugh out of it though. :)

Plus, we are getting together with some family for a doughnut party at Grandma and Grandpa's. Party, Party, Party! Sorry if you live too far away to come. -Grandpa really does make the best homemade doughnuts. I would try to save you one, but they are just too good. :)

Baby Shopping

Today Aaron and I went Baby Shopping. We almost bought a crib, changing table and dresser ... but decided to wait and look a little more online.

We did find a car seat and stroller set though! It's the one pictured to the left. We felt like the neutral coloring would work well for a boy or a girl. -Just in case we have more kids later on.

Yes all you Grandparents can keep your fingers crossed for more kids later on. Depending on the day and the back aches we change the number of kids we'd like to have on a daily basis.

We also found something amazing for our house! It almost didn't fit in our SUV and we almost couldn't fit it through the door into our house. Lol. -Guess we'd better not ever try to move. :)

The Curse of the One Comment

So, not complaining here. Well not trying to, but I have noticed a trend.

It's the One Comment trend. As I have already admitted I am obsessed with blogging. I love it when people put up new posts or when people leave me comments.

However, for my last 13 entries I have only had one comment per blog.

I tried the leave it up longer theory --didn't help. I tried the add lots of cute pictures approach. But alas, still just "One Comment." Perhaps now that this is the 14th blog it will have more luck and break this curse.

At least it's not Friday the 13th. That would just be creepy.

ps: Happy Halloween tomorrow! I hope all the kids come to my house so Caleb can't eat as much candy. :)

Yummy

I love Chocolate Frostys! They are the best. :)

Did you know a Wendy's frosty has: 15% Vitamin A, 35% Calcium and 10% Iron! -See it's good for me. Plus, Caleb loves them. When I was on my business trip the one thing I had a hard time getting was a Chocolate milkshake. But eventually, I did find a way.

94 days and counting

So, I really wanted to post when we passed the 100 day marker and only had 99 days to go, but it happened to also be the day I woke up early and headed down to my business trip. Which, went fairly well. Party! Party! Party! Especially because it was the very last one I will need to go to before Caleb is born and I get my new job (aka Full-Time-Mom).

So, here we are at 94 days and counting. :) Aaron and I went to bed a little later than normal last night. And after an hour and a half of sleeping Caleb woke me up at 12:30 with his kicking. -Not too bad other than I wondered if it was almost time to get up and shower -not hardly at 12:30 am. Lol :)

Obsessed

So, I suppose it is time to admit that I am absolutely obsessed with blogging.

I get so excited when ever any of my friends put up a new post or make a comment on Aaron and I's blog page.

This weekend I have another business trip. Luckily I am less involved with this show and only need to be there 2 days instead of 3-4. I will miss my Internet access and hope to see many new and random blogs when I get back! :)

Also, only 8 more days until I get Aaron to help me put up the Christmas tree! Party, Party, Party!

Raining Dip n Dot Snow

This morning on the way out the door I thought "what's that sound, is it raining?" I had left my rain coat at work so I grabbed a thicker coat and looked out the kitchen window ... it was pouring.

As, I opened the garage door to leave I saw snow. But not just any snow hail like balls of snow. And then rain again, and then snow, rain and snow.

As I looked out my car window I couldn't help but think that this snow, not of the snowflake variety, looked very much like Dip n Dots ice-cream. Perfect little round like balls, soft -yet firm balled up next to my wiper blades.

Family Fun

Tonight it was really fun to have some of our family come over. We played the Wii a little bit, fed the ducks and had dinner together.

We can't wait for the big party in November! And are excited about playing lots of games together. And also, about getting to harass a certain little brother.

Party, Party, Party!

Excited for the Weekend!

Today I am just so excited for the weekend!

We should get to see some good friends that are visiting, hang out with my brother and his wife, and maybe sneak in an appearance at a Halloween party.

Plus, I know I am weird, but we get to do laundry and go grocery shopping! Plus, sleep in, hang out at home. The list goes on and on. :)

Also, I found the cutest baby section at Fred Meyers last night! I got a pair of shoes, jeans, 2 t-shirts and some bibs for 9-month-old kids. The clothes are so grown up. My little man is going to be big before I know it and he's not even born yet.

We have been warned ...

In the Sun He Melted, Melted, Melted

So, our friendly neighborhood snowman in our yard is slowly melting. I was going to try to take a picture of him in all his glory, but his fat carrot nose had fallen off and he just didn't look as jolly as before.

Also! Aaron played Risk with me last night! And I won, which he says I almost always do. But still he played! Plus, it gets even better ... he made chocolate chip cookies as well. -What a great family night activity.

Also, I think Caleb's been kicking his Mom a little more lately. -Someone should tell this baby that it's not nice to kick your Mom. Lol.

One day later and we have snow that is sticking to the ground.

Our neighbors even built a snowman in our front yard. It's got a carrot nose, tree branch arms and a red and white scarf.

Plus, Aaron organized the garage while I was at a baby shower yesterday! So, now I even get to park in the garage. :)

One week later ... and it's snowing. See how the middle tree has more color now. Crazy stuff is going on around here. Snow in early October.

Plus, we got candy corn at the store last night! -Not a dedicated candy corn eater like some friends and belly hitters I know, but definately willing to share if you guys come and visit.

Baby it's Cold Outside.

Wow is it cold today. Aaron blew out the sprinklers this morning and we are anticipating snow for tomorrow.

I had to work today, but it's a slow Friday. I've been filing and answering phone calls. -My space-heater is on for extra warmth and I can't wait for the weekend. I still haven't got that Risk game in yet, but maybe I can persuade a certain cute guy I know to humor me. :)

Skittles - Taste the Rainbow

So, today is one of those slow days at work. So, I went down stairs and got some quarter candy. And man do I love Skittles! The sweet citrus taste reminds me of 7up -- another pregnancy favorite.

Kind of funny how a sweet pick me up can do wonders to spruce up a slow day.

Speaking of "spruce" is it just me or are any of the rest of you loyal blog readers ready to put up your Christmas tree? -I am so anxious. The earliest I can convince Aaron to help is Nov 1st. And then he says it can only stay till about Jan. 5th.

Bah Hum-bug I think we should leave it up all year round. :)

Fall Colors

Today Aaron and I have been enjoying staying home. In between watching Conferance sessions Aaron and I made both banana bread and apple crisp!

Our yard is very colorful as the leaves on the trees are begining to change colors. Also, many of the flowers we have are enjoying the extra moisture and cool weather.

Plus, we hung up our first pictures today! We have lots of artwork, etc. to decorate with, but have been slow about unpacking. -Must of been all that painting, re-carpeting and baby growing that has been slowing us down. -That's ok though, we will have everything unpacked and organized by the time our family comes to visit next month!

My favorite colors are oranges and reds so I absolutely love these fall colors!

It's the Weekend!

I am so excited that it's the weekend. Aaron and I went grocery shopping yesterday. So, if we want to -we don't even need to leave the house! And if I am lucky maybe I can convince Aaron to play Risk! -I am kind of obsessed with that particular board game lately; which means poor Aaron is tired of playing it. Maybe if I let him win a little more he'd like it better. Lol.

Other hopes are to get some more boxes organized around the house and to do laundry for next week. Oh, and I need to figure out how to freeze zuchini. Our neighbor has an amazing garden and I have 3 torpedo sized zuchini on my kitchen cupboard. Not to mention a box of apples from my boss and bananas screaming banana bread. -Guess I'll be in the kitchen a little bit too trying to figure it all out.

As far as I know the baby is doing fine. I still haven't really felt him kick, but I am starting to gain a little weight and my stomach is getting a little rounder. Thank goodness for that maternity clothes shopping trip about 2 weeks ago. :)

Home Again

This past weekend I had a business trip in Boise, ID. I worked hard and came home with sore feet, but it was oh so good to be home.

Aaron had got me roses and a chocolate bar I've been craving. Plus, he had cleaned the bathrooms, washed the dishes, and even made me dinner on Sunday. Isn't he the best! -I missed him tons, so it was really nice to know he had missed me too.

Saturday

Today has been a nice, lazy kind of day.

It has been cool and rainy. And the leaves on some of the trees are starting to yellow.

Aaron had to work for a few hours this morning so I got to go shopping! I got Caleb some Dr. Seuss board books and 2 outfits. I got Aaron a new work shirt and a new tie for church. And then ... I had to go shopping for me.

It's much funner shopping for Aaron and Caleb. :) But I knew I would be in trouble if I didn't find some clothes that fit. So, I went into our local maternity store and actually found some cute things.

You would think that if you were shopping at the maternity store and if you were choosing the right size that you wouldn't have any trouble finding clothes. However, this is not the case. Each time I go I try to grab anything in my size, and then I find half of it fits, another fourth fits but looks dreadful and then there is the 3-4 shirts remaining, with the lucky chance of maybe one pair of paints that fit and look good.

Today was the lucky kind of day with a pair of new work pants, 3 work shirts and 1 for home.

After shopping for just 2 hours total. I was exhausted and heading home. But at least I will have clothes for work now. :)

This afternoon we watched a movie, played a board game, ate home-made cookies and worked on laundry. Aaron has been reading so of course I am blogging. Lol. I did read for about 3 minutes and wrote in my journal. :)

So, I Lied

So, I lied. It's too exciting to keep the Boy/Girl status of our baby a secret.

We are having a baby boy!

Life is Good

Aaron's Dad came and visited us this weekend! It was fun. We got to watch a movie, go for a walk, chat, etc.

We are enjoying our new home. And love it when we have company. There are still a few boxes here and there, but we are making good head way on organizing our stuff.

As for our baby. Well we think Baby Bly is growing well. I haven't really gained weight, but at least I am maintaining. Supposedly our baby is the size of a bananna right now (10-inches long from head to foot). We get to go to the Dr. this week and have an ultra-sound.

For all of you anxious baby fans - you will just have to wait a little bit longer. We have decided to keep the Boy/Girl status a secret until Thanksgiving time. That's when our family is coming and we are excited to show them the video we should get at the Dr.'s office.

Life is good and we are very blessed.
