T-I-Double Grrrrr

At about 2 months Caleb really started to enjoy his Winnie the Pooh bouncy chair. He especially loves to try to touch the hanging tiger rattle. We took a picture of him in his bouncy chair when he was almost a week old and then one this past week at his 3 month mark. It's funny because you can see just how big he's gotten. He has almost doubled his birth weight and is very smart.

Oink

Pay It Forward. Isn't this a lovely picture of friendship. I found it on my friend's blog. The first three people who leave their comments about this porcine wonder will receive something hand-made and fabulous from me. You might even get to make a request if you'd like. Here's the catch though. Take this picture and put in up on YOUR blog and then come back and leave the comment to let me know you're in! I Love you all and am grateful for our friendships!!!

The Kitchen Spider

So, you know when you see a really big spider and shivers go down your spine. Well, we had one of those living in our house.

I saw it in our kitchen window about a week ago, and due to it's fastness and the fact that I was tending Caleb, it got away. Well, actually it hid crouched in a nook looking at me --mocking my terror. Anyway, I left out some tissues and a stick I was going to try to use to kill it, but alas, it was gone when I got a chance.

So, for days (and nights) I dreaded the possible re-match. Until today ... at lunch time right about when Aaron comes home (yes!). There he sat big, black and furry. Looking at me with his crouched, pouncing mocking face. -Once again, I was tending Caleb. So, I called Aaron ... who was late leaving work for lunch (oh no) and then accepted a call from my Sister in Law. :)

15 minutes later when Aaron got home the kitchen spider was no where to be found. :( -Aaron checked the window, blew in some cracks (he's so brave) and slid the window back and forth.

Just when I was lamenting another possible show down I spotted him. On the tip-tip-top of the cabinets, walking on the ridge line was a big black MnM sized kitchen spider. I kindly pointed him out to Aaron who had to get up on a chair and then the cupboard to kill the villain.

-Even Aaron commented on his hugeness (validating my Ronald Weasley like fears). And finally finishing the showdown the kitchen spider was vanquished for good. :)

What a Cutie

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies

2 Eggs
1/2 Cup Butter/Margarine softened
1/2 Cup Sugar
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
1/4 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1/4 Cup Baking Coco
1 3/4 Cups Flour
1 Cup Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips (try 1/2 cup Milk Chocolate Chips or Andie's Baking Chips)
1 Cup Diced Walnuts

Bake at 375 8-10 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet, my oven is hot so I bake them at 365 and let them cool on the pan. :) Not too fluffy, not too flat, nice and chewy!

Too Much to Blog About

Most days I find that there is far too much to blog about. And far too little time to actually get my thoughts put together into a post.

Motherhood is an interesting, hard, happy kind of experience. It means eating cold cream of wheat and soggy Cheerios, taking quick baths and hoping you'll get to shave both legs. But it also means being loved and trusted. -Caleb means so much to me. I would be very happy and count myself lucky even if we never had any more children. Just being Caleb's Mom is enough.

2 1/2 Months Old

Caleb is 2 1/2 Months old and growing fast. Here are some videos of him playing today. He is still learning to grab things on his own, but once he has a hold of something he's got a great grip. The exception to this is with his binky. He knows how to push it back into his mouth and can pick it up pretty easily.

Great Grandpa and Me

We got the opportunity to visit with Grandma and Grandpa Great this past weekend. It was very nice to see them and have Caleb get to know them better.

Happy Birthday!

Yesterday was my Birthday! My husband got me these lovely flowers along with a swing for our backyard. (-I can't wait for spring time and flower gardening).

Also, we had Fun-Fetti Cake, Ice-Cream, Strawberries and Brownies! Delicious. Wish everyone could have been here for the party, but we settled for a few amazing families in our neighborhood. The kids running around our house were hilarious. We are super excited to have people over for BBQ's this summer.

Thank you to all my family and friends that called, sent cards, etc. -You guys are the best. :)
