Putting Daddy to Bed

Lots of times when I need some help Aaron will hold Caleb next to him on the bed and read a book, etc. Caleb really enjoys it and will often doze off making it easier to get him to sleep.

Today was no different, except Caleb was just chilling between cat-naps and his Daddy was falling asleep. Too cute. :)

Caleb really loves snuggling with his Dad. I just know that when he grows up he's going to want to be just like Aaron. Hopefully he'll learn to be happy, smart and easy going just like his Dad.

I sure do love my handsome guys!

Snuggly and Warm

Sometimes when Caleb is in his car seat he looks around in awe and other times like this one he is so relaxed.

-I think I have the cutest little boy ever.

Happy Thoughts

We were on our way out the door and needed to put Caleb into his car seat when he started to fuss. I laid him on the bed to get him ready and Aaron said "Caleb, think of your happy thought." He looked off and very contently coo-ed: Ahhhh. :)

It was so stinking cute. I don't think we could have planned it for a million bucks.

So, if you'd like to guess ... we've been joking about what exactly Caleb's happy's thought could be. I think it's food. :)

ps: He weighed in at 10 lbs. 3.5 ounces ounces today at his 4 week/1 month Doctor's visit. 21 1/2 inches long.

I have a baby bump on my chest

So, since Caleb has been born I have learned that I can do all sorts of things one handed. For example: I can eat cereal, I can brush my teeth, I can hen-peck chat messages to Aaron at work.

But there are so many things that I just can't do one handed. For example, it's really hard to get dressed, floss your teeth or write a blog posting one handed. It's also hard to do the dishes, laundry or make the bed one handed.

However, today I discovered the baby bump on my chest! Right now I am slightly leaned back in our computer chair, feet on the shelf, keyboard balanced on my knees and a baby bump sleeping on my chest. -I would take a picture if I had any more balancing talent, but I think this one tops the cake.

You see, Caleb has this very bad habit of wanting to be held. He will sleep as long as he's held, but try putting him down for a nap and all you get is 10-15 minutes to try to wash dishes and eat a cookie. Since he's basically been up since 7 am, I suppose I would rather have him sleep curled up in a ball on my chest than not at all. -He just wants to be part of whatever is going on. -At night he sleeps like a log! Thank goodness for some sanity. :)

Saturday Morning Surprise

We woke up this morning to an unpleasant Saturday Morning Surprise.

Sometime between 12 pm and sleeping in this morning (in 3-4 hour sections) we discovered that we no longer had hot water. :(

Our hot water heater had died. We had someone come and check it out to confirm. And decided to save $300 - $400 bucks by waiting until Monday to have the new one installed. -Don't worry, Caleb has all the hot water he needs. -It's just Mom and Dad that get the icy showers, etc.

Anyway, long story short I am extremely grateful that I did about 6 loads of laundry and a batch of dishes yesterday. That we still have both water and power (stove and microwave for heating dish water, Caleb's bath water, etc.) And definitely grateful for a good sense of humor. :) What an adventure. :)

The Pigeon finds a Baby

We are huge fans of the Pigeon books by Mo Williams. This toy Pigeon is the main character. So, it is only fitting that it is the first toy that Caleb has shown interest in. :)

When we set it in front of him he will stare at it for the longest time. He also enjoys eating it and feeling its soft fabric on his cheek.

Other updates are that Caleb will soon reach the 10 lb. mark. Hopefully his pattern of gaining almost a pound a week won't last his entire life. :)

I joke with Aaron that Caleb is like the Dalmatian puppy on 101 Dalmatians that is always hungry. "I'm hungry mother, honest I am."

Sleeping Beauty

Yesterday I took this picture of our very nice sleeping baby. He was so peaceful and was in such a good mood. -He even enjoyed his bath. :) -I was suprised at just how much I was able to get done in the morning.

However, last night and this morning were a very different story. I don't know where my handsome prince went, but Caleb has been cross and very much so awake.

I know when the day has been long when I finally get to shower at 5 pm. Lol. :)

Just had to Say...

So, I just had to say that I have the best husband ever. Aaron has helped so much with Caleb. He's done extra chores, camped out in a hospital recliner for 3 nights, is working hard so I don't have to go back to work, etc. etc.

I don't know how to explain just how much I love him, but I really do. He's my best friend. :)
